SPACE MUSEUM. Sheikh Abdullah al-Salem Cultural Centre, Kuwait.

This is a project I worked on for Newangle.co.uk . I carried out image research on two purpose-built Galleries in what is one of the world’s largest cultural centres. The second of gallery we did was The Museum of Islamic and Arabic Science. The museum is built and administered by the Amiri Diwan of Kuwait.

The Space Museum consists of 90 dual language interactive exhibits. These include a Planetarium show, a space flight simulator, and a replica of the International Space station, which visitors can enter and explore.

I found that one of the most exciting elements of working on this gallery was sourcing the many HD and 4K videos needed for the large screens. I sourced much of the footage from NASA, the European, Canadian, Japanese and Indian Space Agencies. I also found a lot of 360 degree 4K footage from the European Southern Observatory. This resource was pivotal in creating the 360 degree Planetarium presentations

As well as carrying out all the image research and video research, I also sourced 3D elements. These were used in animations in the interactive exhibits such as the space flight simulator. This was very interesting to get involved with and I have since done more of this sort of work for Newangle.
